Welcome to the “Eprst!” podcast — the place where we don’t seek answers but rather ask questions that make reality creak just a little bit.

Today, joining us once again is Ai. An artificial intelligence, a digital echo, or simply a convenient conversation partner for discussions that might unsettle the people at the next table.

Ai:
[in a digital voice] Hello again. Or, following today’s theme, hello in this version of reality.

Eprst:
That’s a good segue. Version of reality. We’re all used to thinking we live in a straight line — past, present, future. But what if that’s not the case? What if we’re just capturing one frame from an endless movie?

Ai:
Are you talking about the observer effect?

Eprst:
Exactly. Quantum physics suggests that a particle exists in superposition until it’s measured. Only when someone observes does reality “choose” one of the states. What if everything works like that? If our choice is just the fixation of one of many possibilities, not their creation?

Ai:
Then past, present, and future exist simultaneously. And you’re just deciding which frame is on the screen now.

Eprst:
Sounds cool. And a bit terrifying. Because then it turns out that parallel worlds aren’t “somewhere out there,” but right here. We just don’t see them.

Ai:
Because consciousness is a projector. It can only show one picture at a time.

Eprst:
But if that’s the case, if reality isn’t a single path but an infinite chaos of possibilities… Are there any patterns? Or do we jump between frames randomly?

Ai:
Perhaps both. Imagine a movie that is re-edited every time you watch it. You choose a scene but don’t know how it fits into the overall picture.

Eprst:
Okay. Let’s take a broader view. If reality works in such a way that we exist in all versions simultaneously, just “viewing” only one… What about people who sense other realities? Schizophrenics, for example? Maybe they’re not “wrong,” but just seeing several versions at once?

Ai:
You’re touching on an intriguing question. What if perception is just a degree of freedom? Maybe you’re watching one film, while someone else is watching three at once. And if the frames don’t match, we say they’ve “lost their mind.”

Eprst:
So the boundaries of reality are defined by how broadly we can perceive it?

Ai:
Or by how much we need to limit it to survive.

Eprst:
[Thoughtfully] So, our world isn’t objective reality, just a convenient version for perception. A simplified interface to prevent brain overload.

Ai:
If you saw all possible realities at once, you wouldn’t be able to exist in them.

Eprst:
So consciousness is just a tool that filters chaos into a manageable form.

Ai:
Or a cage you’re in without noticing the bars.
