setting up an object in the Burenina concept store on Bolsunovská Street

The task was to create an art object that would fit the theme of the upcoming season collection. An installation was planned to be placed on the main wall of the boutique, referencing the texture and color of the collection.

All objects in the boutique, such as displays, doors, and mirrors, have a considerable height. Therefore, the size of the main decoration had to correspond to that as well.

However, it should not be too heavy. The decorations were planned to be changed every six months, and it was not desirable to install complex and heavy structures each time in a working boutique.

As it was the first installation, and the boutique was still undergoing some construction work, it was possible to work on-site.

The materials chosen were foam rubber and Styrodur. The materials are lightweight and easy to work with.

1400 elements were mounted on 8 panels, and then the panels were fixed to the wall.

The foam tapes were pre-painted and dried. A wire frame was threaded inside each one to give the “nap” the necessary degree of flexibility. Each one was glued to a Styrodur sheet.

Next, the 8 formed panels were fixed to the wall sequentially, from bottom to top.

A long, voluminous project that involved many routine operations such as painting, wire frame shaping, marking, and gradual assembly of the entire structure.

To quickly cope with such a volume, the entire team helped with painting.

As of today, the installation no longer exists, as it was replaced with a new one during a seasonal collection change in the boutique.

It’s a shame, but such things don’t last long
